Challenges
Finding a solution that would eliminate temporary structures and build the span that the designer intended (approximately 70m - 229 ft.)
Solutions
Overhead Movable Scaffolding System M70-S (capacity for spans up to 70m - 229 ft.), previously used in Valencia
On the basis of the study carried out with BERD, the bridge Designer opted for a 69m (226 ft.) typical span
Results
Construction period: 55 weeks
Construction faster than predicted in the initial project
Optimisation – no need for construction and demolition of provisional structures
Increased industrialization and easier operationally vis-à-vis the alternatives
Higher construction quality due to the reduction and control of deflections
OPS System allowed the cast of the box in two phases, without any danger of cracking
Final reduction on the cost construction of the optimised viaduct compared to the initial project.
