Challenges
• Construction of 90 m (295 ft.) spans with movable scaffolding system, the largest of our days
• Elevated height of pillars, assembly of supports at elevated heights due to the height of the pillars
• Respecting the basic design spans
• Major reduction in the cost of viaduct construction
Solutions
• Wholly autonomous equipment lifting the supports by means of own overhead cranes
• In order to obtain the optimisation and reduction in construction time, two items of equipment are used
• Use of safe, industrialised method
Results
• M1-90-S with current cycles of 14 days, achieving cycles of 12 days for 90-meter spans
• Savings of more than 650.000 tons of materials
• Savings of more than 35.000 trucks of concrete
• Savings of more than 45.000 tons of steel
• Reductions of more than 28.000 tons of CO2
• High Safety levels during construction
• Higher construction quality due to the reduction and control of deflections
• OPS system allowed the cast of the box in two phases, without any danger of cracking
