Movable Scaffolding Systems

Probably, rationality is the most important tool for the design of bridge building equipments.

Movable Scaffolding systems are conceived to be used in the construction of cast in situ concrete bridges and they are traveling steel structures supporting the formwork that gives shape to the bridge.

Due to the use of an auto-adaptative pre-stressing system (OPS-Organic Prestressing System - Patent PCT/PT 2004/000011) BERD’s Movable Scaffolding Systems are much lighter than conventional ones because OPS greatly reduces deformations and internal forces. In brief, less steel and more load capacity. Also, safety is increased because the structure is permanently under monitoring.

To achieve rationality, different solutions are to be selected according to each case’s main conditioning aspects. BERD’s equipments are designed to accommodate different bridge deck cross sections with high efficiency; deeply considering operational aspects as crew needs, easy transportation and easy assemblage on site.

BERD´s Moving Scaffolding systems are available in Underslung and Overhead solutions for spans from 25m to 70m. Standard solutions M30-I, M40-I, M60-I, M50-S, M60-S are available, among others. Other tailor made solutions can be developed to respond to Customer needs comprising corresponding bridge characteristics.

For maximum efficiency Double Span equipments are prepared to achieve 2 bridge spans down to less than a week cycle. Standard solutions M2x25-S, M2x30-S are available, among others.
