Anita Garibaldi Bridge

BRAZIL (LG50/100S) 2013-2014

Location
Laguna, Brazil
Year
2013-2014
Project
Type: Bridge, total length 2815m (9235 ft.)
Typical Span: 50 m (164 ft.)
Deck width: 24 m (78 ft.)
Typical Cross Section: Box
Equipment features
Model: LG50/100S
Construction Type: Precast segments
Type: Overhead LG
OPS System: Integrated
Performance: 4-day cycles Overhead crane for the transport and lifting of precast segments It also allows the construction, in balanced cantilever method, of bridges with spans up to 100 m
Challenges
• Precast segments should be admitted by the already built bridge or from the ground/ water.
Solutions
• Autonomy: locomotion of the whole and transport and assembly of supports carried out via the overhead crane
• Optimised operation: the OPS system enables the control of deformations while positioning the precast segments
Results
• Construction period: 75 weeks
• Spans carried out by LG 50/ 100: 49 spans of 50 metres
• Higher productivity than expected, achieving cycles of 3.5 days
• Higher operating safety of the machine, due to the reduction of lauching operations
• High construction quality and deformation control
